The Ms. Easter Project
During the Spring Break for Christ Mission Trip, students had the opportunity to meet an 87-year old woman who was a victim of Hurricane Katrina. After spending some time with her, students discovered that she owed $2,000 on her mortgage, and still needed repairs on her home. They were so touched by her story that they were determined to make Ms. Easter their next mission project. Upon their return home they launched a project to raise the money to pay off her mortgage. The project began in late March of 2008 and in May they submitted the funds to the mortgage company paying off the mortgage for Ms. Easter.
