
The Bishop E. T. Dixon Lecture
The lecturer for our second annual Bishop E. T. Dixon Leture was the Rev. Marilyn E. Thornton. She is a musician, storyteller, educator, and preacher/pastor, who loves to tell the story of God's salvation for all people using various media. Originally from Washington, DC, she is currently the Pastor of Emery United Methodist Church in Murfreesboro, TN, and the Lead Editor of African American Resources at The United Methodist Publishing House in Nashville, TN.
Reverend Thornton engaged a small select student group along with selected faculty and staff in a luncheon prior to her lecture. The title of the lecture was "Singing, Telling, & Writing The Story: African-American/Biblical Connection.
